A virtual chemistry lab for classroom practice

Give students a chance to rehearse practical decisions before laboratory time and to revisit the calculations after it.

Open teacher tools

Use it before a practical

Introduce a prepared titration and ask students to identify the contents of the flask and burette, the indicator and the expected endpoint. The Tutorial in the laboratory menu introduces the apparatus and simulation controls. Students can repeat these steps at their own pace.

Connect observations to calculations

After a run, discuss why a rough titre is excluded from an accurate mean and how the balanced equation determines the reacting amounts. Challenge mode offers practical and calculation work outside the exam-paper format. Freedom mode lets you configure supported experiments for discussion.

Classroom work

The teacher workspace provides classroom and assignment tools. Students use the classroom entry page to access assigned work. Classroom tools require an account; you can explore the public experiment library before signing in.

Curriculum and limits

The current exam-style practice focus is Cambridge 9701 quantitative practical skills, with other question-style options available in setup. The underlying titration techniques also support broader chemistry learning. Check each activity against your own syllabus and students’ needs.

The simulation supports preparation and revision. It does not replace supervised practical lessons, chemical risk assessments or assessment of real apparatus handling. Generated practice is original and carries no examination-board affiliation or endorsement.
